I am hoping that she still hasn't found my blog because I'm going to give you a sneak peak that she hasn't seen of her shower keepsake: a receipe book made from pictures of her shower and receipes that the guests brought for her.
Here is the concept - I asked each of the guests to bring a favorite recipe to share with the bride. The request was carried our through an insert I included with each invitation. Here is a pic of that insert:
The background is supposed to be a faded black. In real life, it has that trendy chalkboard effect. These were made using print and cut on the Silhouette Cameo. The prose is not my original work; I shamelessly went Googling for inspiration and then slightly edited someone's else's poem. I think it was posted on a wedding forum - thanks to whoever came up with the cute poem!
My original intention was to then make her a mini album of pictures from the bridal shower mixed together with the recipes. After the shower, though, I stumbled upon Shutterfly (which is not new, I know, but I had not used it before) and I decided to make her recipe book digitally!
Well, four months later I finally finished it. I had a few misadventures with Photoshop along the way. The project and my sanity were saved by Lightroom, and I finally got all of the photo editing done. The recipe book has at long last gone to press!
After completing my order, Shutterfly offered to let me post the project to my blog, so I thought, "why not?" I know this is a shameless plug on their part, but I am proud of the result.
I hope you enjoyed my project and perhaps you find some inspiration here. Until next time, happy crafting!
P.S. If you know the bride, please don't tell her about this website! Thanks!!
